FAQs about Xinja

Find out more about Xinja and how it will be different from traditional banks reading the FAQ’s below. If your question isn’t listed below, just drop us a line at [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.

Xinja (pronounced 'Zinja' - rhymes with 'Ninja') is a bit of fun. We wanted a name with a bit of 'zing' (or 'xing'!) in it and yes, the connection with Ninja is intentional; Xinja is your money ninja - we're fast and we've got your back 🙂

Xinja is building Australia's first fully digital bank built entirely for mobile. Unlike other banks, it will be designed around customers' needs and in their interests. It will be incredibly simple and easy to use; you can start using a new account within seconds, see payments in real time with instant balance updates, set financial goals and monitor your progress, follow your money using simple visuals tools and set automatic checks in place to prevent you overspending. You can also ring fence funds you are saving for specific purposes without your having to open a separate account, and start saving with a single swipe. Our first product will be a pre-paid card where you will get the chance to try out this new experience, and contribute your own ideas.

Not yet, but we want to be, and we want our customers (or Founding 'Xinjas') to be involved in shaping the future of Xinja. Sign up on our homepage to be a part of it.

Anyone who likes to use their mobile to make life easier whilst getting more out of their money. Anyone who hates paperwork and simple things taking more time and effort than they need to. Anyone who loathes bank fees and waiting and chasing and repeating themselves and worrying. Anyone who wants to worry less about money. Anyone who wants to comfortably live within their means. Anyone who wants the joy of saving for something they care about.

The Xinja app will be designed for both iOS and Android. We will start with iOS which makes our Google Pixel-wielding CEO grumpy.

Unlike traditional banks, Xinja is focused on enabling our customers to make intuitive, optimised, rapid & better money decisions without the angst. We don't have the costs of retail branches or the burden of legacy systems, that typically make processes cumbersome and slow for customers. We will actually have great security too, thanks to biometrics, geo-location and facial recognition software. We believe it's time Australians had access to a new type of bank - that serves their interests - and is delivered through a brilliant mobile experience. We will deliver this through building the bank with our customers, and by using the best technology has to offer.

Personal finance apps are like health and fitness apps. They can track, but they can't do the exercising for you. Xinja, on the other hand, can do some of the heavy lifting for you. Follow your money, tell us what you want your money to do, and we will make it happen. It will be instant, easy and fun.

We won't charge account fees, everyone can access a free version of our services. However we will have heaps of additional premium features you can enjoy month to month, and you can switch them on or off as you need them.

Xinja will be launching its first product - which will be a pre-paid card - in February 2018. We look forward to launching mortgages and deposit accounts later in the year.

In early 2018 we expect to have customers trialling a limited release of our cards, and that feedback will help us shape the full product release later in 2018. Sign up on our homepage to be a Founding Xinja and be one of the first to try our cards and even be a tester.

Sign up on our homepage to get notified when we launch 🙂

You will be the first to know when we launch, you can be the first to test and try our products and you can be a part of our Founding Xinja community (giving feedback directly to our design team where you can tell us about the things you care about most). You also get the first opportunity to own a piece of us when we launch crowdfunding.

Sign up on our homepage (if you haven't already) and as soon as the first cards become available, we will let you know and you'll be able to get started by downloading the Xinja app.

We want to build Xinja with our customers and around their needs. That's why we are encouraging people to sign up (on our homepage) to not just pre-register for products, but also, if they want to, to help build an amazing new bank for you to use.

Great Question! Submit your email address on our homepage (if you haven't already) and we will put you on the waitlist for our prepaid debit card so you can get the Xinja experience! We might also ask for your help understanding the money and banking problems you want fixed so we can make sure that Xinja is as useful as it should be. As a founding customer you get all the Xinja news, products and opportunities to own a bit of the bank first.

Sign up on our homepage (if you haven't already) to get access to our Founding Xinja community conversations where you can tell us what should be possible for your bank and how you want to get more out of your money. And you can drop us a line anytime at [email protected]

The laws changed in Australia in September 2017 meaning that we've now caught up with the rest of the world to allow equity crowdfunding. As a result, you can invest in Xinja from as little as $250.

To do so, you'll need to visit our deal room on the website of our partners Equitise. Once inside the deal room, please make sure you review all the information very carefully.

Like any investment, Equity Crowdfunding or Crowd-Sourced Funding (CSF) is risky. Investors may lose their money and the business may not achieve its objectives. You should consider the CSF offer document and the general CSF risk warning contained in the offer document in deciding whether to apply under the offer.

We’re looking for interesting and passionate people with an entrepreneurial spirit to help us turn our vision into a reality. If you're interested in joining us, send us some information via our careers page.

Xinja (which is the more fun trading name of the less fun Get Kite Pty Ltd) is a privately owned company, with several investors who are as passionate as the operational team about building a brilliant new banking experience built around customers' needs. We look forward to opening up investment to our Founding Customers - or 'Xinjas' - through crowdfunding.

Xinja is owned by several investors and was founded by Eric Wilson, our CEO, who is absolutely passionate about bringing a great banking experience to Australians - one that actually helps them manage their money much better, with much less angst. If you have questions for him, drop him a line at [email protected]

Xinja is an Australian company and our offices are in Sydney.

No. No banks have loaned funds or invested funds in Xinja.

The safety of your money is the most important thing we deal with. We take it very seriously. Well before any of our products come out we will explain very clearly where your money is held and how it is kept safe. Nothing matters more to us.
